Palm Springs city bodies take up tourism, development, library naming, more this week

There’s a busy week ahead, with development, tourism funding, and governance each drawing attention from elected and appointed officials before the week closes.

Development proposals, tourism policy, real estate negotiations, and library governance top the agenda as Palm Springs city bodies meet across four days this week.

The week’s most consequential action comes at City Council, where members are expected to take early steps toward creating a new tourism infrastructure district and vote on changes to the city’s hotel incentive program. The council is also set to take up a governance discussion regarding the mayoral position.
