Modernism Week just announced a new CEO, and she’s a familiar face.
Driving the news: Lisa Vossler Smith has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
- She has worked with Modernism Week since its inception in 2005 when she was a volunteer. She worked her way up to becoming executive director in 2013.
- She also served for several years as senior director of administration and operations at the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Hometown hire: Vossler Smith attended Indio High School and grew up in La Quinta where she began her early career training at La Quinta Hotel under the leadership of her mother, Judy Vossler.
What they’re saying: “Lisa has a proven history of successfully guiding Modernism Week as we have grown over the years. She did an outstanding job running the organization during the pandemic, when we adjusted our business model to adapt to the national crisis.” – William Kopelk, chair of the Modernism Week Board of Directors
