Modernism Week returns Oct. 15-18 with tours, design show and new digital guide
Organizers said the four-day festival will include home tours, evening events and a free app-based guide to Palm Springs architecture.

Modernism Week – October returns to Palm Springs next weekend, Oct. 15-18, with tickets on sale for tours, talks, a design show and a car show, and to top it all off, organizers have launched a free digital guide to the festival’s content.
Featured home tours include The Marquee at Twin Palms, a newly restored home built in 1957 and described as “a luminous showcase of midcentury modern design.” Tickets are $40 for tours Oct. 15-18.

Tours of Frey House II, the residence of architect Albert Frey, are hosted by the Palm Springs Art Museum and cost $75. The tickets also provide free admission to the museum and the Architecture & Design Center Oct. 15-18, except on days the museum is closed.
Take a tour of the homes on wheels, either a Sunny Cycle multi-passenger pedal-powered vehicle for $90 covering Palm Springs neighborhoods or one of the iconic double-decker architectural bus tours covering civic, commercial, and residential architecture for $130.
The 12th annual Palm Springs Modernism Fall Show will run Oct. 16-18 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. It will feature 40 national exhibitors offering decorative and fine arts.
An opening night party and early buying preview begins Oct. 16, with tickets at $95 in advance or $110 at the door. Public hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18, with tickets at $30.
“The Palm Springs Modernism Show continues to be a premier gathering for designers and design lovers, offering a rare opportunity for people to connect with collectors and dealers from around the world,” said Rosemary Krieger, CEO of Dolphin Promotions.
Modernism Week also announced a new free digital guide that includes photos, audio and video on local architecture and architects. It offers three digital tours, including a 20-property audio city tour narrated by Modernism Week CEO Lisa Vossler Smith, plus tours inspired by books from photographers Dan Chavkin and James Schnepf and a video archive called The Library.
“This free Digital Guide allows everyone to easily explore Modernism Week tours and videos, whether they are in Palm Springs or anywhere else in the world,” Smith said. “We are thrilled to share our curated information about local iconic architecture, engaging festival experiences and the vibrant stories that continue to shape Palm Springs as one of the world’s premier modernist destinations.”
Modernism Week 2027 is scheduled for Feb. 11-21, with tickets going on sale Nov. 1 and a schedule preview Oct. 25.
