Roughly 100 people gathered at the intersection of East Arenas Road and South Calle Encelia as the ribbon was cut, a proclamation was read, and signs were unveiled officially proclaiming the area a district.

This year’s theme is “Say Gay,” in defiance of Florida's “Don’t Say Gay” law and other anti-LGBTQ+ laws being passed across the country.
Honorees include community advocates, organizers, and leaders, all of whom have devoted their lives to improving the lives of those in the LGBTQ+ community.
