James “Gypsy” Haake, one of the world’s oldest living drag queens, will be honored as the 2023 Pride Parade Grand Marshal in Palm Springs, alongside Trixie Mattel and Ethylina Canne as Celebrity and Community Grand Marshals respectively.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Greater Palm Springs Pride, with the parade set for Nov. 5, celebrating the theme “Drag Now. Drag Forever.” The honorees, recognized for their mastery in drag and their contributions to the LGBTQ+ community, will be celebrated in a show of solidarity and resilience amid political unrest and attacks on the drag community.
