Palm Springs may be known for its hot summers, but before the heat spikes this year, the Annual Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week opens Friday and runs through June 9 for locals and visitors to participate in a gourmet journey through the Coachella Valley.ย ย

Returning for its 16th year, the event will be bigger than ever and feature 97 local favorites including 4 Saints, 533 Viet Fusion, Amala at the Palm Springs Surf Club, Blackbook Bar and Kitchen, Lulu California Bistro, and many more.ย ย

Like previous years, restaurants participating in the event will offer breakfast and lunch packages that include two or more items priced at $15, $25, or $35, and dinner menus that include three or more items priced at $39, $49, or $59. A portion of each reservation made through this page will go to support FIND Food Bank.

But this year, Davis Meyer, a spokesperson for Visit Greater Palm Springs, said they made some changes, like โ€œallowing restaurants to not just offer a prix fixe menu but also to include a special offer to participate in restaurant week.โ€

Past restaurant weeks were โ€œreally for special occasion higher price point restaurants,โ€ said Meyer, โ€œbut with stuff like this, weโ€™re starting to see more places that maybe donโ€™t hit that prix fixe menu price point.โ€

After starting as a grassroots organization meant to attract more customers to local restaurants during hot summer months, Visit Greater Palm Springs took over in 2017 and expanded the eventโ€™s mission.ย ย

Meyer says the organization got involved โ€œto really transform [restaurant week] into a visitor event as well as something that gets locals out in the summer months to check out restaurants and encourages visitors to come out and experience our incredible culinary scene in greater Palm Springs.โ€

The culinary scene in Palm Springs has evolved in the last 10 years, said Meyer.ย  โ€œOur region has grown a lot in terms of what we have to offer with restaurants and chefs and unique dining experiences. Restaurant Week really helps highlight that to our markets and we hope to continue that for years to come.โ€ย

Details: To participate, diners do not need to buy passes, tickets, or coupons. Just call the restaurant to make a reservation or go online here.ย ย But donโ€™t delay, participating restaurants book up fast.
