Police: Multiple vehicles intentionally rammed, driver arrested

A 27-year-old man is being held in lieu of $1 million following his arrest for allegedly ramming into vehicles, assaulting a driver and attempting to run over a bicyclist in Palm Springs Monday evening.

The Palm Springs Police Department said Tuesday that they responded to a report about a silver Lexus ramming into vehicles near East Baristo Road and South Sunrise Way in Palm Springs on Monday at about 6:45 p.m. They believe four vehicles were intentionally struck.

Police said a Palm Springs resident was found with the suspect vehicle when officers arrived on scene. He had allegedly intentionally rammed into vehicles, assaulted a driver, and attempted to run over a bicyclist, according to police. They said the police department’s dispatch center also got other reports about a silver Lexus driving recklessly and being involved in other allegedly intentional hit-and-run collisions.
