Revivals Stores Celebrate 30 Years of Affordable Shopping, Sustainability, and Community Impact

Since opening its first location in 1995, Revivals has become much more than a resale store.

As everyday costs continue to rise for families across the Coachella Valley, one local retailer is offering more than just savings — it’s delivering hope, style, and support to thousands in need.

Revivals Stores, a beloved thrift and furniture shopping destination owned and operated by DAP Health, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. And with every bargain comes a bigger purpose: affordable fashion, sustainable choices, and essential health care access for the community.

Since opening its first location in 1995, Revivals has become much more than a resale store. With four locations (in Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, and Indio), it has established itself as a retail trailblazer, creating a uniquely local shopping experience that blends secondhand finds, brand-new furniture, and a strong sense of community.

“As we celebrate 30 years, Revivals remains committed to being a place where shoppers can find incredible value, all while making a difference in their community,” says Revivals Chief of Retail Dane Koch. “Our customers come for the deals but return for the people — our team of more than 260 dedicated volunteers makes the shopping experience truly special.”

A Legacy of Style and Service

At the heart of Revivals is its mission to serve the community. Unlike typical retailers, 100% of Revivals’ profits are funneled directly back into DAP Health — a nonprofit providing medical and behavioral health care to over 88,000 people annually, many of whom are uninsured or underinsured. That means every vintage dress, coffee table, or brand-new Mode sofa sold helps someone access lifesaving care.

From its early days as a small resale shop to its current status as a cornerstone of the local shopping scene, Revivals has always stood out for its ability to reinvent and inspire. It’s not uncommon to find a stylish young couple shopping for vintage barware alongside a retiree hunting for midcentury modern furniture. With new inventory arriving daily, there’s always something unexpected waiting to be discovered.

And thanks to its exclusive Mode at Revivals furniture line — a carefully curated collection of new, affordable home furnishings — shoppers can mix and match pre-loved treasures with modern pieces, all while sticking to a budget.

Thrift as a Modern Movement

Revivals’ milestone comes at a time when thrift shopping is not only trendy — it’s practical. As inflation and newly imposed tariffs on imported goods drive up prices, consumers are turning to resale in record numbers. According to industry reports, 82% of Americans bought or sold secondhand items in 2022, and 93% say they do so to offset the impact of rising costs.

“Thrifting has become a smart, sustainable response to inflation,” explains Koch. “It’s good for your wallet and even better for the planet.”

The environmental benefits are clear. Buying secondhand reduces waste and keeps items out of landfills. With sustainability now top-of-mind for many consumers, especially Gen Z and millennials, Revivals is uniquely positioned to meet the demand for eco-conscious shopping.

Industry projections suggest that the secondhand apparel market alone will grow by 127% by 2026 — three times faster than traditional retail. And Revivals, with its stylish, curated displays and enthusiastic local following, is poised to ride that wave.

A Shopping Experience With Soul

But Revivals offers more than bargains — it’s a place where customers can find a sense of purpose and belonging.

“Revivals is more than just a store — it’s an experience,” says DAP Health Chief of Brand Marketing Steven Henke. “It’s where people come to find their authentic selves, express their unique style, and connect with a real sense of community.”

The stores are designed to be welcoming, joyful, and inclusive, reflecting the values of DAP Health itself. Whether you’re shopping for fashion, furniture, or a funky gift, you’ll find yourself surrounded by friendly faces and the comforting knowledge that every dollar you spend is going right back into your neighborhood.

Join the Celebration

As Revivals marks its 30th anniversary, the public is invited to join in the celebration. Whether by shopping, donating gently used items, or volunteering time, there are countless ways to be part of the store’s ongoing impact.

With daily new arrivals, plenty of affordable treasures, and a loyal community of supporters, Revivals shows no signs of slowing down.

“After 30 years, we’re just getting started,” says Koch. “Because when shopping changes lives, it’s not just a trend — it’s a movement.”
