Palm Springs boards, groups to discuss bike parking expansion, Tramview Heights plan this week
Five meetings this week also cover downtown safety upgrades, a Tramview Heights update and a drop in airport noise complaints.

Vacation rental enforcement, transportation spending and neighborhood issues are on the agenda this week as Palm Springs boards, commissions and community groups hold five meetings over three days. City officials will consider appeals over rental registration fines, review bike and pedestrian funding, and update residents on the Tramview Heights plan.
The Administrative Appeals Board will hear three separate appeals involving vacation rental properties, with fines ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 and penalties that include registration suspensions and a permanent ban.

The Active Transportation Subcommittee will review a sustainability budget item along with capital improvement projects and safety upgrades planned for downtown.
City leaders will also brief residents on department operations and neighborhood projects at a community membership meeting.
Here’s a look at the meetings scheduled this week:
The Active Transportation Subcommittee meets Monday at 1 p.m. in the City Hall Large Conference Room. Staff will present updates on the Make Our Ramon Safe report, the CV Link Connector project and the Safe Streets for All Action Plan.
New business includes a sustainability budget item, bike parking expansion at trailheads, capital improvement projects and interim safety improvements in the downtown core. Robin Abrahams will also present an update on Vision 36.
The Human Rights Commission meets Monday at 5 p.m. in the Large Conference Room. Members will approve minutes from the June 8 meeting and hold an election for chair and vice chair. No other discussion items are listed on the agenda.
The Organized Neighborhoods of Palm Springs holds its membership meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Palm Springs Police Training Center, 200 South Civic Drive. Mayor Naomi Soto, Councilmember Jeffrey Bernstein and City Manager Scott Stiles are on the agenda, scheduled to give leadership reports.
The agenda includes an update on the Tramview Heights Specific Plan, a Parks and Recreation events update, a food drive update and a report on a new e-commerce feature planned for the city’s website. Department updates are scheduled from police, fire and emergency management, sustainability, Desert Water Agency, Palm Springs Disposal and the Office of Neighborhoods. Event committees will also report on plans for a candidates forum, a fall Modernism walking tour, a PRIDE event and Neighborhoods of Distinction.
The Administrative Appeals Board meets Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Large Conference Room to consider three vacation rental appeals. The board will also approve minutes from its June 17 meeting.
The Airport Commission’s Noise Committee meets Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Airport Conference Room. At the committee’s last meeting in April, staff reported complaints had dropped from 76 in February to 17 in March, though most were still tied to flight path changes. Coordination with the FAA remains ongoing.
