Happy Monday, everyone.ย If youโ€™re like us, you probably spent a portion of your weekend getting to know your ballot for the Nov. 5 General Election. Also, like us, youโ€™re likely a bit confused by some of the things you see. To help you sort through all the ballot measures and races, the folks over at Cal Matters have put together a very handyย 2024 Ballot Guide. Using it is simple: Just enter your address and youโ€™ll see some (but not all) of whatโ€™s on your ballot, and also links to any analysis or other reporting theyโ€™ve done. Have fun!

AND FINALLY โ€ฆ

You donโ€™t have to be a skateboarder to do some shredding in Palm Springs this week, as the city is gearing up to accept and dispose of your sensitive documents safely and securely.

Driving the news: Residents can bring their documents to the Convention Center parking lot โ€” located at 277 North Avenida Cabelleros โ€” on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. The city will then shred them and dispose of them for free.

  • Acceptable documents include, but are not limited to, legal paperwork, medical records, bank statements, payroll records, and contracts. There is no need to remove any clips, staples, or envelopes.

  • E-waste and bulky items will also be accepted, but hazardous waste such as swimming pool chemicals, paints, pesticides, or fluorescent bulbs will not be accepted.

But wait: Canโ€™t make it to the event on Saturday? The city will be doing some โ€œpre-shreddingโ€ Tuesday through Thursday at City Hall โ€” 3200 East Tahquitz Canyon Way โ€” between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
