Local artist named grand marshal for 2024 Palm Springs Pride Parade

Greater Palm Springs Pride announced this week that artist Aaron Allen Marner will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2024 Pride Parade. Marner, a Palm Springs-based visual artist, is being recognized for his vibrant artwork and advocacy for social justice.
“I am deeply honored to be named grand marshal of the Palm Springs Pride Parade,” Marner said. “Pride is a celebration of love, diversity, and equality, and I am proud to be a part of such an important event.”

Marner’s work, which blends portraiture, figurative painting, and collage, often explores themes of social justice, mental health, racial inequality, and HIV prevention. His art has been exhibited in galleries across the country, and he has gained recognition for his large-scale murals and public art installations.

The annual Pride celebration promotes unity, diversity, and equality. Events are scheduled to take place in downtown Palm Springs and the Arenas District from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
