Free musicianship camp offered for students in grades 8 through 11

The Palm Springs Cultural Center is partnering with Youth Training Orchestras of America (YTOoA) for a free Summer Music Camp.

There’s a bevy of options for summer day camps  in Palm Springs — including those offered by the city and coding camps from College of the Desert. Now there’s one more to keep your eye on!

  • The program will recreate the Juilliard pre-college experience for young musicians.

Who this is for: Students in grades 8 through 11 who want to strengthen their music reading and comprehension and improve instrumental and singing techniques.

  • This program anticipates but does not require participation in YTOoA’s orchestra, which will begin at this same location in September.

Details, details: The Summer Musicianship Camp will be held at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, 2300 East Baristo Rd,, on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. for eight weeks from June 14 until August 2.
