Bob Hope USO-Palm Springs to honor military service members during 8th Annual Spirit of Hope Gala

The Bob Hope USO-Palm Springs, in partnership with The Management Trust, will present the 8th Annual Spirit of Hope Gala on Friday, December 3. The gala supports military service members and serves as a benefit for Palm Springs area programs and services.

The event will be held at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage with musical performances by the USO Show Troupe and keynote remarks by Colonel David A. Suggs, Chief of Staff at Twentynine Palms, as well as 30 service members will be in attendance to enjoy the evening.

“The Bob Hope USO-Palm Springs team is thrilled to honor the men and women who fight for our country during this special evening, as well as welcome our supporters who help keep them connected to family, home and country,” said USO West President Bob Kurkjian. “We’re thankful for our partnership with The Management Trust and their dedication to presenting The Spirit of Hope Gala and supporting our courageous service men and women.”

The keynote speaker address will be given by Colonel David A. Suggs, Chief of Staff at Twentynine Palms. Col Suggs has accumulated over 2,400 flight hours. His awards include the Legion of Merit (2 awards), Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (with strike/flight numeral “13”), Air Medal (with individual/flight numeral “2” with combat V), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with 3 awards and combat V), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various unit awards and campaign medals.

Bob Hope USO-Palm Springs provides USO services and programming to more than 35,000 current members of the military and their families annually through volunteer support at the USO Center at the Palm Springs International Airport, in the community and at 29 Palms MCAGCC Marine Base.

For 80 years, the USO has supported the men and women who fight for our country. The USO goes where our service members go, no matter the location.
