Palm Springs International Airport reports record 3.3 million passengers in 2025
Officials attribute growth to increased demand for Coachella Valley as year-round destination, with five all-time monthly records set during the year.

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) served more than 3.3 million passengers in 2025, marking a 2.4% increase over the previous year and establishing another record for the facility, officials said Tuesday.
The airport set five all-time monthly passenger records during 2025, including March, which became the busiest month in the airport’s history with nearly 500,000 travelers passing through the terminal. Nine months recorded year-over-year passenger growth, demonstrating demand that extended beyond traditional peak travel periods.

“We’re proud to see more travelers choosing to fly from Palm Springs,” said Harry Barrett, Jr., Executive Director of Aviation. “It reflects the strength of our air service and the convenience of PSP. Every trip that starts here supports local jobs, helps sustain the regional economy, and creates momentum for expanding nonstop air service that benefits the entire Coachella Valley.”
Airport officials said the passenger increase reflects growing interest in the Coachella Valley as a year-round destination, with domestic travel demand driving much of the growth.
Interestingly enough, the airport handled approximately 3,800 fewer commercial flights in 2025 compared to pre-pandemic levels, a 6% decrease. Airport officials said airlines have increasingly deployed larger mainline aircraft instead of smaller regional jets, allowing carriers to transport more passengers per flight while reducing overall flight activity. The newer aircraft are quieter, more fuel-efficient and more environmentally friendly.
Inside the facility, infrastructure investments continued through “Progress PSP,” a long-term terminal and facility improvement program.
Completed projects in 2025 included new shops and restaurants, expanded passenger seating and charging areas, shade structures, upgraded flight information displays, water bottle filling stations, a new Wi-Fi system, recreated midcentury modern curbside seating, new passenger elevators and a remodeled conference space.
Projects currently underway include an expanded zero-emission vehicle fleet, 80 electric vehicle charging stations in the main terminal parking lot, a smart parking and access upgrade and other improvements designed to support continued growth.
