After walking through the dark brown entry gate, a crumbling wood privacy wall and ornate, etched-glass double doors, local musicians Joan and Gary Gand of the Gand Band could tell that something special lurked beneath.

Having acquired vast experience in restoration in other architecturally significant homes in Palm Springs, this became the Gand’s new project: a journey which would ultimately uncover a desert gem of late modernism. And so began an extensive restoration of the exterior and a reimagining of the interior, reflecting a groovy early 1970s vibe.

PS ModCom invites you to see the new incarnation of the house. This will be the very first tour of the Gand’s latest gem located in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood. The last tour of the day celebrates the era of the house with a sunset cocktail reception and live performance by the Gand Band and their guests. Join us for a ’70s vibe and let’s groove on down!
