Ever since Courtney Newman first came to the desert with his grandparents in the 1960s, he has been obsessed with the classic entertainers who, from the 1950s through the 1970s, made greater Palm Springs their home.
In “ShowBiz Comes to the Desert,“ Newman, the co-founder of Palm Springs Modern Committee and co-owner of Modernway with his wife Joy Ryan, will intersperse stories and fables around a classic collection of film and television clips of stars like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin and many more on Feb. 22 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
