The Desert Winds Freedom Band’s upcoming concert, “Infinite Hope”: The concert is a mix of music that will excite, inspire and bring some joy during these difficult times. From the joyous and classic Leonard Bernstein’s “Overture to “Candide”, the ever popular “over the Rainbow”, and a very dramatic and exciting contemporary piece “City of Gold” commemorating the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, to some popular standards with the Jazz Band like “it’s a Wonderful World” and Feeling Good” featuring Keisha D and Patrick Evans, there is something for everyone who enjoys music. The exciting climax to the evening will feature the full 88 piece concert band with a men’s chorus combining several members from the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus, Modern Men and A Cabbello.

Special guests include Composer/Clinician Brian Balmages who will conduct two of his own works.  We will also perform the world premier of our newly commissioned work, “The Ascent from Darkness” by composer and band member Rossano Galante.  Our high school scholarship recipients will perform with the Band and will receive their scholarship checks at the concert in a special presentation.
